About this Group

About this Group:

This is a group of leaders in South Florida interested in bringing immersive technologies to their programs. This group has representatives from K-12 schools systems, non-profits, colleges and universities, and industry professionals that are all interested in solving problems with systemic access to technologies like AR/VR/MR within their organizations, for their students, and for underrepresented teams.

  • Dream City Challenge

    • Use 3D tools to build parks, product, transportation, services, businesses that will reside in Dream City

  • October: Dream City Workshop Miami/Ft Lauderdale

    • Date/Location pending

  • December: Dream City Launch – Miami Art Week -Film Gate interactive Film Festival

    • December of 2023 we will bring these 3D objects together in an immersive platform that will be accessible through PC, AR, VR, MR

  • Workshop-> DIY Digital Twins with Drones

Hackathons -> Microsoft sponsored Mixed Reality Challenge (open for everyone)

  • 50% of incoming freshmen interested in STEM will get a D, Widthdraw or, Fail. The majority of that population is female, Latino, Black/African American

  • Spatial reasoning is critical for success in STEM

    • It is isn’t taught in traditional K-12

    • It improves math skills and competencies which are gateways into STEM

    • I can be taught

    • Immersive technologies like AR, VR, MR provide great tools to teaching spatial reasoning
